Just because it was easier at the time, I checked the Program Info on the trial version, found subs, did an experimental output, and yes, one minute of video with subs still intact. I have two versions of VRD one is a trial version 4.20.7.629 (Nov 15 2011) on one computer and the other is the version I cited originally, 4.21.10.681 (Jul 21 2014), a later, paid up version (on a higher performance computer). Now, what I've found out following your direction, I found the Program Info dialogue box and yes, it shows that there are subs. You said "We only support teletext in TS files and WTV files." Is it possible to support them in other files and VRD doesn't or is there some limitation that means it's not possible? I'm still wrapping my head around video stuff so definitely would appreciate as simple an answer as possible, if it's a complex issue. I looked at my "TMPGEnc Authoring Works 5" but could not get that to "burn in" the I only have an older version 5 but would be amazed if 6 could not do the same thing. "Burn In" is the ONLY thing that it will do with subtitles "Burning In" subtitles will alway requre a recode. This is mainly a converter not an editor. Subtitles, making them part of the video image. "TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 5" is the only program I have that will "burn in"

If you need me to, I can check by running some samples through telxcc - I'm fairly sure which channels were giving difficulty. If you need a sample so you can check, do you need one for each group of channels or just one sample from one channel or a sample from every channel? I know it used to be that I could extract subs from shows with telxcc but that didn't work for all the channels so now I use ProjectX and that handles every channel, so I don't know if the networks are still doing things differently sub-wise to each other. If it doesn't, and you know that, does version 5? Does VRD 4.21.10.681 handle Australian subs, do you know? I'm not very savvy on subtitles except to know that on our remotes, if we use the teletext method, it's page 801.
